Reviews for Doi Xanh Quan
Review highlights
Based on 232 reviewsDoi Xanh Quan is widely appreciated for its authentic Vietnamese street food, with particular praise for its snails, which are frequently described as flavorful, fresh, and richly prepared. The restaurant consistently delivers well-presented dishes that provide a satisfying culinary experience, especially popular among groups and casual diners. While most customers find the staff friendly and attentive, there are occasional mentions of service lapses during busy periods, suggesting room for improvement in customer engagement and attentiveness. The overall atmosphere is noted as warm and welcoming, creating a vibrant setting both for dine-in and takeaway. Some feedback indicates minor inconsistencies in a few dishes’ preparation, such as overcooked vermicelli, but these do not overshadow the strong appreciation for the food’s quality and authentic flavors. Value for money and variety, including standout items like bánh mì and scallops, further enhance the restaurant’s appeal within the local community.
One great option to go for Vietnamese street food, especially the snails option, they are delicious. I tried other normal dishes but they are at ok level, sometimes the vermicelli in some dishes are overcooked. Staff is okay, quite attentive and quick. However I think need to improve a bit on attitude for customers to feel they are welcome.
This is my go to spot whenever I’m out with friends or taking colleagues for a relaxed yet delicious meal. The snails are always cooked perfectly rich, buttery, and full of flavor. Every dish comes beautifully presented, and the taste never disappoints. The staff are friendly and attentive, making every visit feel warm and welcoming. Whether it’s a casual get together or a special outing with workmates, this place never fails to impress. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great food and a comfortable atmosphere!
Food at Doi Xuan Quan was so yummy and flavourful. The snails especially so, they were fresh and saucy and absolutely full of flavour. We did occasionally have to ask for some things (ei bread and rice) twice as they were quite busy and the waiter had forgotten. But the tastiness of the food more than made up for that. Highly recommend the snails in butter and the scallops..
Ordered some take away Bhan Mi. They were perfect - heat and coriander on the grilled pork was great. A lot of tofu on the other, and they nailed the no coriander and cucumber on that one. Pretty great at the price.
After having been to Aldi I casually walked into Doi Xanh Quan looking to buy a Vietnamese Roll. Fact is that as soon as I walked in my senses were hit with aromas of fresh herbs and spices that are unique to Vietnamese food. Service staff is very friendly and helpful. The ambience is welcoming as the place buzzes with clientele coming to eat in or take away. The food ! Well, apart from my take away Vietnamese Roll, I decided to sit in and order a Pho. The Pho was delicious, so savory, with that mouth watering aromatic broth that makes Vietnamese Pho's unique yummmmmm. Doi Xanh Quan is Definitely the place to go to should you desire to try the true taste of deliciously prepared Vietnamese food. Highly recommended as I for one will definitely go come back to try all those other delicacies on the Menu. There's plenty of parking available.
BEST VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT IN MARIBYRNONG!! This exotic seafood dish is extremely hard to find in Melbourne. The butter garlic snail sauce is cooked perfectly. Recommended food: Crispy Chicken with Tomato Rice, So Diep Mo Hanh, Oc Toi xao Bo Toi, Che Thai
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant, thanks to the exceptional service provided by a waitress with dyed hair(wish I asked for her name). She went above and beyond to recommend delicious dishes and even suggested pairing our leftover sauce from the oc with their buttered tiger rolls - a truly delightful combination. Although not every dish was outstanding (which was our own choice, as the waitress didn't recommend them), I must mention that the Chinese donut tasted a bit stale. However, despite this minor setback, I still gave the restaurant a well-deserved 5-star rating due to the exceptional service and overall experience.
looks better than it taste. price is reasonable but quality is not as great. quantity is small for asking price. small delay in our drink order, but understandable as the kitchen hand didn't hear the request. staffs were friendly and warm in their welcome. total was $33~ I would only come back if I was desperate of Vietnamese food. I would rather dine in Footscray which is not far off. EDIT: have came here recently again and was impressed by the flavours. The chicken feet and snails were delicious. I would suggest giving this place another chance. Edited rating to reflect our recent experience.
